The Best Beach in the World August 18, 2008

I woke up this morning to a great surprise. They gave me breakfast. Again! That was just the best. But, get this, there was another surprise in store for this lucky dog. They took me to the best place in the entire world. They took me to Coronado Dog Beach!

 

If you have never been to a dog beach, jump in the back seat and get there as soon as you can. Imagine hundreds of dogs jumping and playing on the beach with each other and their owners. Even better than that: there are no leashes to be found. The dog laughter fills the salty air; but you can’t hear if for the crashing of the waves or the occasional roar of the Navy jets as they land nearby. Everyone seems to get along really well. Be aware, they don’t allow excessive barking by dogs or their owners.

 

My owners had yet another surprise for me: they brought my favorite ball! This was just too much, even for me. I enjoyed sharing my ball with other dogs. I enjoyed borrowing balls from other dogs. I got to play fetch in the waves and even tried body surfing. The water was the best. The beach was the best. My owners are simply the best!

 

But, afterward we went for a bath.

The Cat finds the best places to nap.

This is my brother, The Cat. His name is Rajah. We have a lot of fun together . . . when he is awake! He finds the strangest places to sleep. And, he sleeps all the time. This is him on the jacuzzi cover in a bed full of bouganvilla leaves. Does this look comfortable to you? I much prefer napping in my owners’ bed. But that only happens when I’m clean. Usually.

The Best Cousins in the World July 25, 2008

I have the two best cousins in the world. Willy and Pauly are also my best friends. We are so lucky. We get to go to the park and play ball with each other. Sometimes, on an extremely lucky day, we will go to the beach together. We have a lot of fun whenever we meet.

Willy will always run all the way across the park to meet me whenever I come to play with them. He gives me lots of wet dog kisses, which, between you and me, is pretty cool, although, I usually pretend not to care.

Willy used to think my brother, The Cat, was a fun play toy. I taught him how much I love my brother. Now, Willy and The Cat get along just fine.

Willy is a Chinese Crested with lots of moppy white hair. Sometimes, he gets a really funny haircut; but I pretend not to notice.

Pauly is my newest cousin. Pauly loves to play and likes to run with me whenever I fetch the ball.

Pauly never played with other dogs before he joined our family. He has learned to socialize and has quite a few friends at the park, now. Between you and me, I think he has a girl friend, too, although he is too macho to admit it.

Pauly is not too macho to wear a rhinestone-studded collar, though. He is such a trendsetter.
